Many of us dream about someday working for the mouse and keeping Walt Disney's legacy alive by creating magic and working at one of the Disney Parks worldwide. The Disney College Program (DCP) allows college aged students and international participants from all over the world to work in varying roles across the Walt Disney World Resort ( Florida ) or Disneyland Resort ( California ). In 2018 I completed my International College Program in the entertainment department of the Walt Disney World Resort, Heres just a few of the reasons why you should NEVER EVER do the Disney College Program...
1) You Eat , Sleep & Breathe Disney.
You wake up & go to Disney to work , After work you hang out in the parks watch some shows , go on some rides. Days off ? spent in the parks once again . Hungry ? guess where your going for dinner. Thats right disney springs is right around the corner. Like wow who wants to live in DISNEY WORLD.
2) You will not like your job.
Why ? Because you will LOVE YOUR JOB ! How many people can say there boss is a large rodent who wears different outfits ? How many people can say the goal of their job is to create magic every single day. Seriously this job doesn't even feel like one ( or at least it didn't for me ! ) You will get to have so much fun at work you often forget that you even getting paid to do this.
3) You may have to work with some " Disney Celebrities "
Forget Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt , The real stars here are Mickey & Minnie ! If your lucky enough to work in the entertainment department you may just have to work with some well know friends ! I mean who really wants to say they spent all day with Cinderella in her castle or spent the day chasing Goofy down Route 498 of Dinoland USA ( Seriously... This happened ALOT )
4) You Make Memories That Will Stick With You Forever.
The memories that you make on your program will be some of the best memories you will ever create. Memories like riding Expedition Everest 8 times after work or your friend screaming " DON'T PUT ME IN THE TRUNK ITS MY FIRST DAY " ( Yes Jack Im Looking At You ) will stick with you forever ...
5) You Have to Say " See You Real Soon " To Lifelong Friends From All Over The World
The friendships made on this program are some of the best you will ever have. After all , you all share a common love for Disney & Magic Making. You'll always have the days where you fee like work is hard , but you will have days with you friends that triumph anything. You will always remember splitting your pants at Epcot and having your best-friend tell EVERY CHARACTER ( Thanks Anthony ) , the housing events where you knew none of the dances cause your international ( Seriously America what the hell is the Cupid Shuffle ??? ) or just the times you sat in Olive Garden at a table full of Australians , New Zealanders , Americans & Netherlanders laughing so hard that coca-cola came out of your nose. These friendships will stick with you forever and make you realise it really is a small world after all.
So as you can see you 100% SHOULD NOT participate in the Disney College Program and well you should just give me your job ... Okay ?
